Breathwork
JOurney
Breathwork Journeys are ideal for people looking:

-
to calm or regulate their nervous system.
Either by being brought into a parasympathetic state, or by creating a feeling of resilience when stressful situations arise. With regular practice, a person can learn to self-regulate in stressful or overwhelming situations.

-
to get to know and understand themselves better.
Exploring the unconscious mind helps a person to understand how their current patterns and past traumas shape their relationships, decision-making and emotions. Moving away from questions such as "why do bad things always happen to me" into a more curious and grounded understanding of themselves and the world around them.

-
to move out of the mind and into the body.
Breathwork is a somatic practice. We use a holistic approach to treat the mental, physical and emotional body as a whole. Rather than trying to think or talk of a way out of a situation, we look to locate the emotion or feeling in the body and release it.

How does a Session Work?
Each breathwork journey is uniquely created and tailored to you and your needs. Prior to a session, you're welcome to a 10-minute phone consultation, which helps us to get to know each other, and for me to understand what it is you're looking for.

Not all breathwork journeys will be designed in the same way, and not everybody will do the same breathing techniques. I vary the technique depending on a client's needs. If someone comes to me with high stress and anxiety, poor sleep, and difficulty keeping the mind in the present moment, then I will look to do a down-regulating breathwork journey with them. This means slower-paced breathing, with the focus on the out-breath; this helps bring the body into a place of safety. If someone practices breathwork regularly, has been coming to me for a while, or has lower anxiety levels, I might recommend Conscious Connected Breathwork. This means breathing quickly in and out of the mouth to tap into the unconscious mind, which is the parts of our psyche that stays hidden.

What happens in an hour session?
To start, I'll talk you through the breathing techniques. Lying down, you'll breathe for about 45 minutes. For the last 5 minutes, you'll be given the opportunity to share a few words on your experience.
What happens in a 1.5 - 2 hour session?
To begin with, you'll learn the breathing techniques. Lying down, you'll breathe for roughly 50 minutes. I may also incorporate a meditation or visualisation after the breathwork. Once your breathwork journey has ended, I'll invite you to draw your experience. The drawing is optional. There will be a chance for you to talk in detail about your breathwork journey and what you experienced.
